On October 22 Unitree held the 2026 World Physical AI Conference and partner ecosystem event in Hangzhou. According to the post, founder Wang Xingxing said in August that embodied AI’s “ChatGPT moment” was two to three years away, revised that to one to two years on October 12, and at the conference said it could come as soon as next year. The event also showed a video of GPT-6 controlling robots to paint and play Go with zero task-specific training. Multiple attendee accounts quote him as saying physical AI is showing signs of a breakthrough, likely within one to two or two to three years.
