Anthropic announced a new GSA agreement giving government partners 40% off Claude Enterprise, Claude for Government and the Claude API—for the first time across every product surface—and extending it to state, local, tribal and territorial governments. It says about 500 US federal, state and local organizations use Claude, weekly Claude for Government active users are up about eightfold since February, and federal civilian usage grew about 20-fold in a year; the discounts are estimated to save $1B with no minimum spend. Examples include Utah, where 71% of 34 developers reported saving 20+ hours in a four-week pilot.
