CollapseChina’s State Council issues guidance on AI and employment: job-risk assessments for AI use and new occupations
China’s State Council General Office issued guidance on adapting to AI to build an employment-friendly development model, tackling AI’s impact on jobs on two tracks. First, it sets up a job-risk assessment mechanism for AI applications to soften displacement. Second, it speeds up creating new occupations and occupational standards, expanding demand for roles such as digital managers, AI engineering technicians and AI trainers. It also calls for deepening the “AI+” initiative, encouraging eastern regions to build core AI industries and guiding central and western regions to take on upstream and downstream work such as data labeling and smart-device manufacturing, to create new sources of AI-related jobs.
